Because there are no local high schools, elder students have their choice between Point Loma High School and San Diego High School. Mission Hills also offers plentiful options for private school education as well.
Mission Hills is recognized for its walkability. The many boutique shops and restaurants are a short stroll away from the primarily residential neighborhood. With this being said, public transportation is offered as well for those who do not drive or choose to leave the car at home. The Metropolitan Transit System offers bus route 83 to Mission Hills and Hillcrest.
